Have been a reporter in the past. I am now a teacher at a community college. I am single and looking:)
My interests are films, theatre, politics and books by Nabokov and Melville that I've never read.
My favorite poets are Nazim Hikmet and Charles Bukowski, while my favorite playwrights include Lanford Wilson and David Mamet. There are at least 100 film directors I greatly admire, ranging from the experimentalist Stan Brakhage to the infamous Turkish director Cetin Inanc (of "The Turkish Star Wars" fame).
I am a Turkish-American, and I speak Turkish with 90 % fluency and a with a slight SW Va. accent.
My politics are moderate liberal. I am not a fan of Dick Cheney, though I do credit him with being the actual president of the United States.
My favorite cities in the world are (in no particular order): Greensboro, NC, Roanoke, Va., Istanbul and Bursa, Turkey, Salt Lake City, Utah, Washington D.C., Paris, Amsterdam, Montreal and Antigua, Guateamala. Ihave been told that Tashkent, Uzbekistan is nice, but I've never been there.
The most shocking detail of my personal life is that I enjoy dinning at The Acropolis, a Greek restaurantin Greensboro, though Arzu in Roanoke, a Turkish restaurant, is a great place to eat too.
