Sildenafil citrate has been evaluated clinically and experimentally with each of these endpoint measurements . Initial studies using the GAQ in more than 3000 patients with a variety of etiologies of ED in I1 double-blind, placebo-con- trolled, flexible-dose studies at week 12 demonstrated that placebo improved erections by 22 % compared with sildenafil at 76 %. When querying patients about successful attempts at intercourse, this same group of patients answered 26 % of the questions positively with placebo compared with 66 % with silde- nafil . In reviewing four randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, fixed- dose studies of 12-24 weeks duration, a placebo response was demonstrated in the group of patients queried about improvement in their erections with GAQ . In this group, 24 % had positive placebo response, 63 % responded positively to 25 mg of sildenafil, 74 % to 50 mg, and 82 % to 100 mg . When observing patients of various ages, similar efficacies were demonstrated . In these studies, 24 % of patients who were younger than 60 years of age respond- ed to placebo compared with 78 % of those of the same age in the sildenafil group ( P . 0001 ); 18 % of patients responded to placebo compared with 69 % to sildenafil ( P . 0001 ).

There’s a new cobbler on the corner and he’s already converting clients from the luxury brands to his new label named after him - Jonathan Kelsey, he boasts Amy Winehouse and Alexa Chung as fans and his shoes have only been in the shops for 10 months.
The label might be new but his passion is evident. He describes his shoes as: “really strong, really sexy, in a feminine but not girlie way. Really kick-ass”.
And it seems that this young Brit. designer is kicking ass in retail and design circles as he gets ready to launch his collection for Mulberry next month. Under estimating Jonathan Kelsey though would be a mistake as he is no novice. Kelsey spent four years at Jimmy Choo designing shoes after graduating from Central St Martins. After Choo he worked freelance which gave him the opportunity to work with other popular brands including Gina, Gilesand Joseph. After his freelance stint he decided to go it alone. He is the first one to admit that his had his fill of Jimmy Choo’s and the like. This is clearly reflected in the aesthetic of the design. He describes his shoes as punk, clean lines and wearable.

How to win the Inner Game of Tennis
Do you know the ways of winning the inner game with your mind? Timothy Gallwey developed this concept in his bestselling book Inner Game of Tennis. You're about to find out more ways of winning the inner game of tennis and these ways are applicable to all other areas of life.
Inner game is actually rarely a game. How is that? Well, usually we just listen to every thought that comes up in our consciousness and listen to it. Like having a radio stuck to your ear and repeating everything that you hear.
Playing a game means that you have some influence on your opponent. But if we just listen to every thought that comes up in our mind, then that is not a game, it's obedience.
The first step is to become detached from your mind. It's just your mind, it's not you! It's simply releasing thoughts from the realm of your unconsciousness and there is no end to them.
So how can you actually play the game with your mind?
Here are 5 ways you can win the inner game of your mind:
1. Fighting the mind
The most typical example of fighting the mind is when we are afraid. Courage is actually a win against fear - and that's when we fight our mind. Our mind is telling us something and we don't do it. There is some other internal or external motivation that moves us through the fear.
Fighting the fear can result in a very surprising outcome if we persist. When we are in a fearful situation and we overcome fear, we gain some confidence. When we are confronted with that or a similar event later, we overcome that fear more easily. We feel that the fear is smaller. Eventually we win the internal battle and the fear does not appear anymore. We don't need to spend our nervous energy to overcome the fear, so then we can be much more effective in other mental activities at that moment.
2. Tricking the mind
This concept is the main idea in the Inner Game of Tennis book. We trick the mind by focusing it on something relevant and something interesting - seeing how the ball is spinning or watching the flight path of the ball and things like that.
We are playing a game with our mind and even though we know that we'll trick the mind and the mind knows it, it still falls for the trick. Not always but we get better with practice.
3. Listening to your mind
When we develop good awareness of our thinking, we choose what we'll believe. We choose whether some thoughts are important or not. Again, this is not some Indian mystical ability; we do this all the time.
No? Have you ever thought about hitting someone and you didn't? Or some guy on the street drove in front of you and you wanted to crash in his car? And you didn't? You chose not to follow the thoughts! You saw how useless and damaging would that be in the long term.
That's exactly what we need to do in tennis. Hitting a winner from 3 meters behind the baseline on the run is not a thought to follow. If just after a bad line call a thought like this appears: ?Everything is against me; I cannot possibly win this?, then this is not a good thought to follow!
4. Ignoring the mind - the door to the zone
This is an even higher ability to have than just listening and selecting the thoughts. When you ignore the mind it feels as if you're watching the TV and the radio is on. You are so focused on the TV show, that you don't hear the radio. But it's playing all right.
And the same can be done with our minds. We can get so focused on the tennis game that we don't even hear and realize what the mind is talking about.
5. Shutting the mind off - entering the zone
This is the ultimate ability and it enables the player to enter the zone. Shutting the mind off happens when you have been ignoring the mind for a long time. Some thoughts come but you simply don't care and you just keep playing. Every time a thought appears you just let it pass.
What happens after a while (and it is my own experience) is that the mind seems to get offended. Since we don't notice the mind's chatting, it is so upset that it refuses to talk to us anymore. Suddenly there is silence in the mind.
And you can just play. There is no past or future. They exist only in the mind. What is is now.
So this is a progression in taming the mind. Sometimes it gets a little rough, but eventually the mind seems to give up especially when we don't care. And there lies the freedom from ideas, concepts and beliefs. Only after the match you release this zone state and return to your normal beta state of brain wavelength. Back with your mind friend.

Im not into acoustics, I actually hated it. I dont know, instead of getting relaxed in listening to the songs, it ends up getting sleepy and getting bored.
Just last night, as I was lurking around youtube, I came across to this video that is related to the one I just posted about iTunes new ad. This guy took a video of him singing his own version of Viva La Vida. I thought it was just some kind of comedic act in youtube making fun of the original singer, but hey, he has a great voice! It was actually better than Chris Martins version. And to top it all, he can play guitars while singing.
I checked on his other videos and I was amazed that all of his versions are better than the original one. He covered m Yours by Jason Mraz, Stop and Stare by One Republic, Apologize by One Republic, and believe it or not, With you by Chris Brown. I never ever thought that With you can be turned into an acoustic piece. And mind you it was funny in a way that is great!
The guy from LA, California call himself in youtube as singingdork888. I dont know why. He has a great voice and not that bad looking. He said that he doesnt want to enter the music industry and doesnt even want to audition for the Idols. Singing is just his past time after his day job.
Go on guys! Check out his videos and youll agree with me that he will be big if he enters the record industry. By the way, he also composes songs. And believe it or not, it has great melody and lyrics.
Check out one of my favorite song that he covered, Your Song by Elton John. I tried to listen to this song at around 2:00 AM and it gives me goosebumps. I dont know great vocals.

Learning the RopesI got my first job when I was eleven working for our family vet, Dr. Roberts, in Knoxville, Tennessee. I loved cleaning cages and just being around all the animals. I continued working for Dr. Roberts for several summers and developed my love and respect for animals. After spending a few years at Kiski, a boarding school in Pennsylvania, I attended Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I met my wife, Suzi Egli while we were at Muskingum College and we were married in 1968. Soon after Suzi and I were married, we opened a pet shop, Pet Kingdom, in Knoxville. I loved working at the pet shop but I knew that I always wanted to work at a zoo, so when I received an offer to direct a small zoo in Sanford, Florida in 1973, I jumped at the opportunity. Suzi and I lived in Florida while I worked at the Central Florida Zoo from 1973 until 1975. In 1975, I had to take a break from the animal world because of an illness in my family. In 1978, I decided I missed working with animals and I answered an ad for a zoo director in Columbus, Ohio.Transforming the Columbus ZooI was the Executive Director of the from 1978 until 1992. When I first started at the, attendance was low and the animal habitats were outdated. My top priority was to increase attendance by offering educational and entertaining events. As a result of these programs, more and more people started visiting the zoo. Over the years, I was fortunate to meet many leaders in the community. They helped me raise money to transform the into the state-of-the-art park that it is today.Media BlitzIn 1983 I was invited to appear on Good Morning America in New York. Remember last year we told you that Ashley Judd had teamed up with Goodys, a family apparel retailer throughout the Southeast, to design a clothing line? Well the collection has been such a success that the company announced that they will launch Ashley Judd Plus, an additional collection designed especially for plus-sized women.
Our customers have warmly received the Ashley Judd collection, and the brand has become a key part of Goodys merchandise selection, said Goodys CEO, Paul White. Further, sales from the collection have been strong since the introduction in September 2007. We look forward to the launch of another one of Ashleys lines and giving our plus-sized customers a great fashion offering.

Why are then Champions indeed born? I will answer this question in depth in my next article.
In the meantime remember speed and strength are very important in tennis and how fast you are is genetically predetermined at birth by the fast twitching muscle fibbers your forefathers gave you and the balanced strength of your overall body. So to reap the benefits of maximum natural inborn speed you need to develop the following good habits:
- Go to a track and field and watch carefully all the routines of track and field 100 meter runners, they do all the right things. Copy their exercises even the stretches and cool down exercises.
- If you are lucky enough to be attending a college or in an area were sprinters abound and you are good enough, ask the Coach if you could participate in their speed training program. Its an enlightening experience, I can vouch for that!
- Then develop excellent starting technique (similar to the 50 meter dash sprinters)
- Explosivity (Age appropriate exercises include use of weights, elastics, force-resistence etc..)
- Learn to release the tennis racket from supporting hand and pump like any sprinter in large distances (up to 10 meters a cross the court - to drop shots, angle shots)
- Parallel acceleration by leading your baseline starts always with big powerful FIRST step towards the incoming wide ball, right foot forehand, left foot backhand - lefties, right foot backhand, left foot forehand, while strongly pushing off with the opposite foot on the same direction (the ball).
- Use these techniques on the practice court first, then on point play and finally on match play.
You must feel comfortable with what is your maximum 100 meter speed, be it 11, 10,30, 10 seconds, (or the 50, 20, 10 meter or start reaction time) whatever it is, once you achieved it in power and technique it will be maximum speed for the rest of your life with very little fluctuations from day to day. The important thing is that you fought and worked hard to achieve that goal and you should be immensely proud of yourself and your tennis will greatly benefit from it. Never compare yourself to others or feel bad about not being as good as so and so, measure yourself against yourself and the clock and you will always be happy with your achievements.
Finally, keep in mind that maintaining a high level of excellence requires rigorous discipline and unabated work ethic for a life time.
All the best improving your tennis.

This is the time of year when fashion becomes joyous and over the top; the Haute Couture season has begun, and with it come the most frivolous and gorgeous clothes from the designers imagination.
Instead a dark cloud has been cast over the season with the apparent suicide over the weekend of model, Ruslana Korshunova, in New York City.
The Kazakhstani beauty reportedly fell to her death from her ninth floor apartment, she was was only twenty years old. She had been been working steadily for five years, even appearing in campaigns for Marc Jacobs, Moschino, and Vera Wang among others and landing covers for European editions of Elle and Vogue.
While she did not enjoy recognition on the level of Daria Werbowy or Lily Donaldson, her career was more than most immigrant models could hope for. The strangest and perhaps saddest thing, about this is that there seem to be no real indicators as to what would lead her to such an end, no family member or friend can provide any helpful insight; she seemed perfectly fine.
Many theories are swirling in the media as to what happened, was there a struggle? Was the Russian Mafia involved somehow? Did it mean something that she was watching the film Ghost the night before.

young goalies in the pipeline, and they need to play. We are at the point with Brian that we worked very hard to get the right guy. We were complimented that he wanted to come back and be a part of this team. We have the best goalie tandem in the league. The leadership he showed in the room, how he played, bottom line he got it done on the ice. I am very impressed that Brian wanted to come back and continue this."
"Joe (Pavelski) did have a strong year last year. He's won national championship and came from a program where he did all things when he was there. He played on both ends of the rink, he is a big time player, we think he is right on track. I am not going to limit my expectations of him, I think he can be a heck of a player. He wants the puck on his stick, he wants to be on the ice when the game is on the line. He certainly gained respect in that dressing room as the year went on. For him to step up and get this deal done for us at this time, that tells you a lot about Joe. He is also getting married, so he had some other stuff to handle. I am glad he stepped up right now."
"Our discussions with Brian (Campbell) are ongoing. I wanted to share that with everybody, and that is how we will proceed."
"Jeremy and I have talked about (his coming back) a year ago. Lets see how this works out, and I can't give him enough credit what he did last year. It is one thing for a guy to say I want to play, and it is another thing to put the work in and get to the fitness level he got to, but he went and did it. You could see he was excited about playing the game at that level, and he was committed to wanting to win. We talked shortly after the year was over, after the trainers and the medical guys sat him down, and we said it is going to have to be the same guidelines. You are going to have to play hard, you are going to have to do the things you did this year. Not only what he did on the ice, but he took some younger guys under his wing and had a huge impact on them..."
"(Joe Pavelski's contract) is a deal that works for everybody. I think that is where the deal fell. He knows under this CBA you can not be overly creative with options and bonuses. He knows he has another level to his game, and so do we. We think it is a fair deal at this point for both parties. We got it done pretty quickly."
"The two of them had a great relationship (Nabokov and Boucher). I think they have great respect for each other, and obviously he went 3-1-1 with us. I think his save percentage is over 930, so he got it done on the ice. That is how you really command respect from your teammates. He and Nabber worked really well together. I don't think you will see Nabber playing the same number of games as he did last year. When you have to guys like this it enables the goal of being healhty and rested come playoff time. When you have two guys like this, knock on wood, that should take place."
"We are looking at everything (free agents). Obviously we can not comment on other teams because they are other team's property until July 1st. We are looking to take care of our own business, but yeah we have mapped out all sorts of options with players that could be available. We are prepared, we also look at potential trades, there are many ways to acquire players. Draft, trade, free agency, we have explored all routes in the past and we will do so moving forward. A lot of those discussions take place when you have all the GM's together in the same building at the draft. It escalates some of those conversations."
"I don't think we have to free up any money (by trading Patrick Marleau). I don't know where that perception is coming from. We have always positioned ourselves to have the pieces we want. Players we have we are trying to keep and add to that. Yes there are a lot of teams calling and asking about a lot of our players, and we take it as a great compliment. You should be worried when they don't call and they don't like our players. We leave it at that. I take every phone call that comes from every GM. You learn from what they ask about. Having said that, we think we have a pretty good hockey team with the players we have, with the experience they have over the last few years, with the new coach. With that, some of these players will have to re-earn their equity. We may adjust how we play a little bit. Patrick Marleau, I am not sure why he gets asked about more than any of our other guys, because I get calls from other GMs about 10-12 of our players..."
"We have sent out qualifying offers for the (RFA's) you talked about (Clowe, Ehrhoff, Goc). Do we have ongoing negotiations, yes. Are we making progress, yes we are... I am getting very close in talks with two of the three (free agents Curtis Brown, Patrick Rissmiller, and Jody Shelley). I am getting very close with Jody Shelley. Jody obviously brings a certain element when you are playing in this division and in this conference.

desired handset free of cost and there doesnt arise any need of buying a mobile phone by paying its full cost. But yes, Sim free mobile phones have its own niche market and its own set of loyalists and the charm of Sim free mobile phones doesnt seem to wither away at all.
There are many reasons that describes the usage of the Sim free mobile phones. The foremost benefit of the Sim free mobile phones is for those people who frequently visit abroad and their job include a lot of touring to the foreign destinations could safely rely upon the Sim Free Mobile Phone. Because in case of the contract mobile phone deals, the user has to pay a fortune as the roaming cost which is not a very fruitful proposition. On the other hand, Sim free mobile phones carry the benefit where you can easily insert the local Sim card of that area and can make conversations at a local charge.

What a busy month this has been. Anyways, I was in ND last week to finish moving my stuff out of storage and back to Louisiana with me. There was so much stuff that Iapos;d forgotten about!! I kept going through boxes and getting excited saying, "OH Iapos;m SO glad I have this!!" haha
The main thing I wanted to get was Gabeapos;s expensive bed frame. He is so excited to have his pretty bed back. I got all my pictures and home decor stuff back, too. I got to see Josh and spend a day anda half with him. When he picked us up at the airport it was so cute. He was coming towards me and I kinda ran towards him and he picked me up...Im sure people thought we were lovers who had not seen each other in a long time..so funny! He commented on how good I look...yay for AsH. Bobby didnapos;t know what to think about this d00d pickin me up telling me I am lookin good. So, we ate at Perkins after that...yum. I miss Perkins. The next day Bobby and I drove to Jamestown and stayed at the Gladstone. I saw Elissa and Pheno for a little bit after loading up and then Christy called for us to go visit. We ended up staying about 5 hours catching up. Kelsey was there..she is getting so big. When I got out of the truck Kelsey came running up to me and gave me a big hug. I can still remember when she was a little 2 year old running around in diapers..now she is a beautiful 12 year old young woman..*sigh*. She and Gabe look alot alike I find...Bobby thinks itapos;s just the eyes. Christy filled me in on whatapos;s been happening around Jamestown and with the family. She and Cricket canapos;t wait to see Gabe, I canapos;t wait either. The next day we drove back to Fargo and spent some more time with Josh, had supper, went and had a few drinks. The next morning we left in a uhaul..ewww. The first 12 hours of the drive went fast but my G.P.S turned into an idiot and circled us around TULSA which added an hour to our time. After that we were both pissed off and worn out. We finally made it to the right highway and was on our way. We drove straight through and made it home in about 24 hours. We could have done it in 22 but we had to deal with the road construction and Tulsa and me having to stop to pee every 2 hours. I am very impressed with Bobbyapos;s ability to not take it personal when I bitch when under stress. He earned major respect points through this trip. It was a good time. I donapos;t ever want to drive that route again, though. From now on, we will fly.
Gabe and I will HOPEFULLY be back in ND at the end of the summer for a short visit. He starts school on Aug. 11..yep, the day he turns 5. What a sucky day to start school.
I go back to work tomorrow...BOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I am ahead on assignments for the week so hopefully I can back into the groove of things soon.
I have decided what my next tattoo is going to be. I will be adding onto my first tattoo with the yellow roses. Iapos;ve been wanting to add onto it with something that symbolizes Gabe. I will be adding a tiny frog onto one of the stems. The question is what will the frog look like. I donapos;t want a typical frog tattoo. I want something different. Itapos;s a work in progress. I want to have it done soon, though.
Now that summer is here Iapos;ve been wearing shirts that show off my newest tattoo. I get so many compliments on it. When I was in Vanity in Jamestown the lady who works there really liked it. I spent 200 bucks in vanity on jeans and shorts...now Iapos;m all stocked up on pants again. Yay!!
Okay...I am going relax now.

SERBIA had a grand day at the French Open today when first Ana Ivanovic raced and then Jelena Jankovic hobbled into the quarter-finals before Novak Djokovic hammered another nail in the coffin of home hopes.
As the Serb trio continued to scythe through the field, a merciless Rafael Nadal extended his unbeaten streak at Roland Garros to a jaw-dropping 25 matches. Second seed Ivanovic played with the urgency of a woman late for a lunch appointment as she ruthlessly dismantled Czech Petra Cetkovska 6-0 6-0 in 54 minutes on Court Philippe Chatrier.
While Ivanovic's win was painfully easy, Jankovic's was just downright painful. Jankovic needed a 10-minute medical time-out after game three of the second set against Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska before she crawled past the finishing line with a 6-3 7-6 victory over the 14th seed. "The whole arm is a mess," said Jankovic, who resembled a wrestler pinned to the floor as the tournament trainer massaged her neck and shoulder back to life. "I started to feel the pain in the beginning of the second set and since then it's been pain, pain, pain," said the 23-year-old, who will next face Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro. The Paris crowd had barely got through the scrum at the turnstiles as Ivanovic, who by each passing minute looks like improving on her runner-up finish of last year, showed no mercy against the lamentable Cetkovska. The unseeded Czech, who had not dropped a set in the tournament, looked like a decent threat going on a high-quality opening rally, but once Ivanovic got her eye in she folded quicker than a broken deckchair. "It was much tougher than it probably looked, or the results indicates," said a generous Ivanovic, who has lost a paltry 15 games at Roland Garros so far this year. "I had to work really hard, and I played almost without mistake today." She now plays Swiss 10th seed Patty Schnyder. Fernando Verdasco became the latest casualty on Nadal's apparently unstoppable route to a fourth consecutive crown. Even the match umpire was starting to sound bored rigid with announcing "Jeu Nadal", as the 22nd-seeded Verdasco, the fourth left-hander the champion has faced this year, went down 6-1 6-0 6-2 in under two hours. Nadal now faces Nicolas Almagro in the last eight in a match scheduled for the champion's 22nd birthday on Tuesday. "If I win, it's going to be a beautiful birthday present," the Mallorcan said. "I don't mind finishing early or at lunchtime, or like today in the evening. At the end of the day, if the result is positive, it's going to be a beautiful day. And if it's not, well, too bad." Third seed Djokovic was in no mood to let Paul-Henri Mathieu put him off his mission of a first Roland Garros title. He swept past the French 18th seed 6-4 6-3 6-4 and now faces his childhood training partner Ernests Gulbis of Latvia for a place in the semis. "He was destroying me in practice. I couldn't win a match," the Australian Open champion joked with reporters on hearing his next opponent would be Gulbis, like the Serb a product of the Niki Pilic academy in Munich. "He's a favourite. I will play with no responsibility, nothing to lose. We know each other on and off the court. Crazy experiences off the court as well. He's a great guy." Gulbis is the only Latvian ever to grace the grand slam stage and the 19-year-old did the Baltic state proud by silencing the partisan crowd on Court Suzanne Lenglen with a 6-4 7-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Michael Llodra. The triumph carried him to his first grand slam quarter-final and the mild-mannered world No.80 may now be less inclined to the wild antics that marked his time with Djokovic. "I'm happy. I mean, after the match, I don't want to jump around and do crazy stuff. I'm just relieved that at last it's over," said Gulbis. With Llodra and Mathieu gone, French hopes turned to wildcard Jeremy Chardy. The world No.145, conqueror of David Nalbandian in round two, gave as good as he got in a tight tussle with Spanish 19th seed Almagro but went down 7-6 7-6 7-5. Almagro's dubious reward is place number 26 in Nadal's run. France, which had five players in the fourth round for the first time since 1971, must now hope Julien Benneteau or Gael Monfils can spring a surprise against Roger Federer and Ivan Ljubicic respectively on Monday.

define a generation we cannot afford to keep doing what we've been doing. We owe our children a better future. We owe our country a better future. And for all those who dream of that future tonight, I say let us begin the work together. Let us unite in common effort to chart a new course for America.
In just a few short months, the Republican Party will arrive in St. Paul with a very different agenda. They will come here to nominate John McCain, a man who has served this country heroically. I honor that service, and I respect his many accomplishments, even if he chooses to deny mine. My differences with him are not personal; they are with the policies he has proposed in this campaign.
Because while John McCain can legitimately tout moments of independence from his party in the past, such independence has not been the hallmark of his presidential campaign.
It's not change when John McCain decided to stand with George Bush ninety-five percent of the time, as he did in the Senate last year.
It's not change when he offers four more years of Bush economic policies that have failed to create well-paying jobs, or insure our workers, or help Americans afford the skyrocketing cost of college policies that have lowered the real incomes of the average American family, widened the gap between Wall Street and Main Street, and left our children with a mountain of debt.
And it's not change when he promises to continue a policy in Iraq that asks everything of our brave men and women in uniform and nothing of Iraqi politicians a policy where all we look for are reasons to stay in Iraq, while we spend billions of dollars a month on a war that isn't making the American people any safer.
So I'll say this there are many words to describe John McCain's attempt to pass off his embrace of George Bush's policies as bipartisan and new. But change is not one of them.
Change is a foreign policy that doesn't begin and end with a war that should've never been authorized and never been waged. I won't stand here and pretend that there are many good options left in Iraq, but what's not an option is leaving our troops in that country for the next hundred years especially at a time when our military is overstretched, our nation is isolated, and nearly every other threat to America is being ignored.
We must be as careful getting out of Iraq as we were careless getting in - but start leaving we must. It's time for Iraqis to take responsibility for their future. It's time to rebuild our military and give our veterans the care they need and the benefits they deserve when they come home. It's time to refocus our efforts on al Qaeda's leadership and Afghanistan, and rally the world against the common threats of the 21st century terrorism and nuclear weapons; climate change and poverty; genocide and disease. That's what change is.
Change is realizing that meeting today's threats requires not just our firepower, but the power of our diplomacy tough, direct diplomacy where the President of the United States isn't afraid to let any petty dictator know where America stands and what we stand for. We must once again have the courage and conviction to lead the free world. That is the legacy of Roosevelt, and Truman, and Kennedy. That's what the American people want. That's what change is.
Change is building an economy that rewards not just wealth, but the work and workers who created it. It's understanding that the struggles facing working families can't be solved by spending billions of dollars on more tax breaks for big corporations and wealthy CEOs, but by giving a the middle-class a tax break, and investing in our crumbling infrastructure, and transforming how we use energy, and improving our schools, and renewing our commitment to science and innovation. It's understanding that fiscal responsibility and shared prosperity can go hand-in-hand, as they did when Bill Clinton was President.
John McCain has spent a lot of time talking about trips to Iraq in the last few weeks, but maybe if he spent some time taking trips to the cities and towns that have been hardest hit by this economy cities in Michigan, and Ohio, and right here in Minnesota he'd understand the kind of change that people are looking for.
Maybe if he went to Iowa and met the student who works the night shift after a full day of class and still can't pay the medical bills for a sister who's ill, he'd understand that she can't afford four more years of a health care plan that only takes care of the healthy and wealthy. She needs us to pass health care plan that guarantees insurance to every American who wants it and brings down premiums for every family who needs it. That's the change we need.
Maybe if he went to Pennsylvania and met the man who lost his job but can't even afford the gas to drive around and look for a new one, he'd understand that we can't afford four more years of our addiction to oil from dictators. That man needs us to pass an energy policy that works with automakers to raise fuel standards, and makes corporations pay for their pollution, and oil companies invest their record profits in a clean energy future an energy policy that will create millions of new jobs that pay well and can't be outsourced. That's the change we need.
And maybe if he spent some time in the schools of South Carolina or St. Paul or where he spoke tonight in New Orleans, he'd understand that we can't afford to leave the money behind for No Child Left Behind; that we owe it to our children to invest in early childhood education; to recruit an army of new teachers and give them better pay and more support; to finally decide that in this global economy, the chance to get a college education should not be a privilege for the wealthy few, but the birthright of every American. That's the change we need in America. That's why I'm running for President.
The other side will come here in September and offer a very different set of policies and positions, and that is a debate I look forward to. It is a debate the American people deserve. But what you don't deserve is another election that's governed by fear, and innuendo, and division. What you won't hear from this campaign or this party is the kind of politics that uses religion as a wedge, and patriotism as a bludgeon that sees our opponents not as competitors to challenge, but enemies to demonize. Because we may call ourselves Democrats and Republicans, but we are Americans first. We are always Americans first.
Despite what the good Senator from Arizona said tonight, I have seen people of differing views and opinions find common cause many times during my two decades in public life, and I have brought many together myself. I've walked arm-in-arm with community leaders on the South Side of Chicago and watched tensions fade as black, white, and Latino fought together for good jobs and good schools. I've sat across the table from law enforcement and civil rights advocates to reform a criminal justice system that sent thirteen innocent people to death row.
