Enforcing the dress code is the answer to this problem.

Update Just to clarify: this memo was written by a friend of mine who is a board member at a country club. He knows I write about golf fashion and dress codes, and as such, he shared with me the memo and enclosed snapshot. So far opinions on this...outfit...have varied from "totally unacceptable - that kind of thing should never be permitted on a course" to "totally fine - dress codes just reinforce golf's elitist image problem".

When she got that shot, she nailed it.
Kerr rolled in a downhill 20-foot birdie on the first playoff hole Sunday to beat Helen Alfredsson golf videos Sophie Gustafson at Columbia Edgewater Country Club.

Chrysler LLCs Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) began rolling off the assembly line this week at its Newark (Delaware) Assembly Plant. Chrysler is offering the two-mode hybrid powertrain on both vehicles built at the plant, Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen.

The production of early pilot vehicles was done on the plants assembly line which helped to root out anomalies early in the pre-production process, helping to ensure a higher quality launch.

Production of vehicles with the hybrid powertrain differs in several ways from production of those with conventional powertrains. New processes were implemented to accommodate HEV production, including a unique powertrain assembly process, and ergonomic-assist systems to aid in new functions, such as HEV battery installation.

There are several unique components associated with HEV production that are installed at the plant, including:

- 300-volt battery
- Two-mode transmission
- Torque power inverter module (TPIM)
- Electric air conditioning
- Auxiliary power module
- High-voltage cables (AC and DC)
- Hydro-electric power steering pump
- Hybrid gate way module
- Cooling module

Dodge Durango was the leader in its segment for initial quality, according to J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Initial Quality StudySM. With the advent of HEV production, a new series of error-proofing processes was put in place to ensure continued quality excellence.

The Advanced Two-mode Hybrid System
Chryslers LLCs advanced, state-of-the-art two-mode full hybrid system developed in partnership with General Motors, Daimler and The BMW Group integrates proven automatic-transmission technology with a patented hybrid-electric drive system to deliver the worlds first two-mode full hybrid.

As a result of low- and high-speed electrically variable transmission (EVT) modes, the system is defined as a two-mode hybrid. In addition, the sophisticated fuel-saving system incorporates four fixed-gear ratios for high efficiency and power-handling capabilities. During the two EVT modes, the system can use the electric motors to improve fuel economy, acceleration, and for regenerative braking to utilize energy that would normally be lost during braking or deceleration. The energy is stored in the batteries for later use.

The systems two modes are optimized for city and highway driving.

In the first mode at low speed and with light loads the vehicle can operate in three ways:

- Electric power only
- Engine power only
- Any combination of engine and electric power

The two-mode hybrid provides all of the fuel-saving benefits of a full-hybrid system, including electric-only operation. In this mode, the engine is shut off, with the vehicle moving under electric-only power at low speed. The result is a significant reduction in fuel consumption in heavy stop-and-go traffic.

The second mode is used primarily at highway speeds. In addition to electric assist, the second mode provides full power from engine when conditions demand it, such as when passing, pulling a trailer or climbing a steep grade.

Pricing for the full-size 44 sport-utility hybrid electric vehicles is nearly $8,000 below the competition. The manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) for the new 2009 Dodge Durango HEMI Hybrid is $45,340, including $800 for destination. The MSRP for the new 2009 Chrysler Aspen HEMI Hybrid is $45,570, including $800 for destination. Additionally, customers are expected to receive an estimated tax credit of $1,800.

Newark Assembly Plant

The 3.4 million square feet Newark Assembly plant has 1,000 employees and is represented by UAW Local 1183 and UAW Local 1212. The facility was built in 1951 as a tank plant and converted to an automobile plant in 1957. The 1998 Dodge Durango was introduced in September 1997. The all-new 2004 Dodge Durango production was launched October 2003. The Chrysler Aspen was launched August 2006. Hybrid production began in August 2008.

an interesting discussion of a comparison of significant data from the 2008 PGA and 1996 US Open.
The discussion is interesting on several different levels. First, it's the same golf course, set up in a similar Tom Meeks-era fashion - fairly tight fairways, deep rough, fast greens. Second, 1996 was a critical time in the explosion of club and ball technology. Titanium was first really beginning to take hold, but there was no such thing as a multi-piece ball like the Pro v1. Third, scoring was eerily similar.
From the data, Shackelford draws a skeptical conclusion about the relevance of grooves in the vast reduction in the number of fairways hit despite a 30 yard increase on the average off of the tee. With smaller fairways than 12 years ago, he wonders what impact that plays in both the statistical comparison of these two courses and the data comparison that the USGA and RA compiled to make the case for groove regulation.

company message boards, we were understandably excited, until we saw the message from Remedy CFO Mika Reini, which is basically the equivalent of David Blaine waving from inside his hydro-chamber to let people know that he is not, in fact, dead.

"We feel we owe you all a small heads up, and our apologies for lack of updates," he writes. "Seriously, yes, we're still here and working hard on getting Alan Wake for you to enjoy. Sure, we've been in development for a long time and if everything had gone perfectly smoothly there probably would be a game out for you guys to play already. But designing a completely new game can be hard, and sometimes you need to take a detour to find the best route forward. ... I'm sure you will enjoy Alan Wake when we're done."

We're sure we'll enjoy it too, Mika. We can't promise that we won't need our grandkids to explain the Xbox 1440's neuro-controls, but we're sure that beyond that it'll just be a hoot.

What bothers me though, are the on these posters. With gems like s fight drugs and Lets make South Africa better together you cant help but wonder where the DA got their copywriters from. I can imagine the brief: Liberal party led by tough talking older lady seeks to appeal to all potential voters. Critical that you focus on topical issues facing the country. If you can make these slogans vague and irrelevant then all the better. What we have here is an example of mediocrity.
Seriously, what kind of person finds the scourge of drugs a scare tactic that will make them vote for a political party? Ill tell you! Its the kind of person we like to categorise as the Liberal old White. That stereotype worries about drug addled killers coming in the night to take the flat screen theyve worked so hard to afford.
Lets be realistic though, politics is about promising things you cannot really provide. The party that offers the most appealing and/or appeals to the lowest common denominator in South Africa will win. Now by making generalist comments and wanting to fight drugs the DA shows that lowest common denominator is not a segment they understand. Im not the biggest fan of Jacob Zuma but hes a man of the people, he goes around touring impoverished areas and meeting people while the DA works on scaremongering.
Ive always said that the reason the Democratic Alliance will never be the leading party in parliament (besides the fact that theyve segmented themselves to appeal to a very pale audience) is that they are full of hot air. Ive had the opinion for many years that if the DA wanted to complain about something the ruling monkeys did wrong they should at least show the public what they would do. I mean its simple comparative marketing; you show me why your product is better than the one Im unhappy with.
So heres my message to the DA: Stop focusing on scaring white people and making them huddle in their houses or move to Australia. Maybe if you focused on talking to the lowest common denominator about food, housing, delivery of services and crime then maybe you would have more of a chance.

The United States Golf Association (USGA) today announced revisions to the Rules of Golf, placing new restrictions on the cross sectional area and edge sharpness of golf club grooves. The revisions are designed to restore the challenge of playing shots to the green from the rough by reducing backspin on those shots. The initial focus of the new rules will be competitions involving highly skilled professional golfers and will have little impact on the play of most golfers.
The rules control the cross sectional area of grooves on all clubs, with the exception of drivers and putters, and limit groove edge sharpness on clubs with lofts equal to or greater than 25 degrees (generally a standard 5-iron and above).
The rules apply to clubs manufactured after January 1, 2010, the same year that the USGA will enforce the new regulations through a condition of competition for the U.S. Open, U.S. Womens Open and U.S. Senior Open and each of their qualifying events. All USGA amateur championships will apply the new regulations through the condition of competition, after January 1, 2014.

Gayana Eco Resort is located on Gaya Island 10 minutes off the Borneo coast and the city of Kota Kinabalu. Gaya Island is one of the five coral reef islands that make up the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. The location is also home to a marine ecology research center which works with coral reef rehabilitation.

Like most of the peeps I have selected to follow on Twitter, I have a business to run. I have places to go and people to play golf with. Being on Twitter the past few months has filled in a void in time where I was stuck in the office revamping IBGSs business plan. Twitter provided a break from the tedious work required in redeveloping a business plan. Now that is mostly over and the IBGS tank has been filled with all new products/services it is time for me to drive off the showroom floor in the new IBGS.

how a traditional equestrian festival in Darfur was recently used as a unique place to promote peace and reconciliation. Darfuris are infatuated with horses and most are skilled horsemen and breeders, so using this festival to reconcile differences is particularly meaningful. During the festival races, food, and dancing brought people together, with men and women performing songs and dances that are centuries old.
The four-day gathering included leaders from both Arab and black African groups, and attempted to reconcile the two groups. The five-year-old conflict has been driven by competition for access to scarce water supplies and arable land, has killed at least 300,000 people and left more than two million as refugees.
The organizer of the event is Walid Madibo, from the largest Arab tribe in Darfur, one which has remained impartial in the conflict. He is leading his tribe in a proactive effort to restore peace through reconstructing trade and the economy, including hosting this traditional festival.

If you haven't tried the original yet Puzzle Quest yet, now would be a great time what with that price drop. As for the sequel (which we still can't believe is actually being made), Puzzle Quest Galactrix had its first bit of gameplay released which shows off some of the changed game mechanics.

Changing over from a grid based system to a hex-based system would mean of course that gems wouldn't fall when those beneath them were removed, so the play field has been moved into zero gravity. Now, the gems will "fall" in the direction that they were swapped. Move gems in the diagonally up an to the right and the gems from diagonally down and to the left will move to fill the space.

If that sounds confusing check the gameplay video after break. Oh, and the current release window is the first quarter of 2009.

Ive been anticipating and/or dreading this movie ever since I first saw preview some months ago. I had sort of resolved not to see it as it was pretty obviously going to be wretched but I stumbled into the film nonetheless, and boy howdy! Was it ever.
Journey, originally called A Journey to the Interior of the Earth, is my favorite Jules Verne book and one of my favorite science fiction novels ever. It was also made into a truly kickass 1959 movie in which you get to see Pat Boone naked. What, then, was I expecting when I discovered it was going to be remade as a goofy amusement park thrillride 3D kids movie? I have no effin idea, citizen.
The first half of the flick is glurgy and stupid. But it has a goofy, appealing credulousness to it; I always love Fraser, Josh Hutcherson is neither good nor bad as his young nephew, and Icelandic actress Anita Briem of The Tudors is fine in every sense of the world as the hot Icelandic tour guide. Fraser is Trevor Anderson, a scientist whose conveniently-also-a-scientist brother, Max, disappeared ten years before. Maxs son Sean comes to visit Trevor right about the time Trevor realizes Max has made a bunch of notes in an old copy of Vernes book. Turns out Max was a a member of a secret society that believes Vernes books were fact. They decide to go to Iceland! Theyre able pay for their last-minute flights ($1619 apiece from NYC at Expedia) because Trevors been saving quarters for years.
Then things get stupid.
Once in Iceland, they meet up with Hannah, the daughter of a scientist who helped Max find the center of the Earth or something. A random lightning strike traps the trio in an old Icelandic mine, which just happens to have a conveniently-placed rollercoaster; pretty soon theyre staring glurgy-eyed at Blue Velvet-style bluebirds, flying kites, hitting piranahs with baseball bats, dodging attacks from Nessie and running from dinosaurs. Turns out the Professor Lidenbrock of Vernes novel was a real person (though apparently Axel, the narrator of the novel, was not) and he really went to yes, yes, yes, the center of the Earth. Trevor and Sean get to process their grief over Maxs death in a sensitive-manly geek sort of way, and we get to see lots of things coming toward us fast enough that I think were supposed to jump.
Which brings me to one of the many reasons this movie may have sucked so bad; it was made in 3D, but I saw it in thrilling 2D, which I didnt think would be a big deal but it was. The colors of the film looked amazingly washed out and kind of embarrassingly grey. Many times a shot would be onscreen, and it was clear from narrative tension it was expected to elicit oohs and aahs from me, but the shot was just kind of empty and weak and shallow looking. My own damn fault for seeing a 3D feature in 2D? Yeah, well, they still charged me $10.25 for it. See it in 3D if youre going to see it but no brilliant 3D effects could have saved the dumb script.
Still, unlike so many bad contemporary movies, this one didnt piss me off. I actually enoyed its dorky goofiness, and despite the washed-out look, some of the thrills and special effects were vaguely fun. Unfortunately, they were interrupted periodically by horrible dialogue. If you love Vernes novel, as I do, and if you hate yourself and want to feel pain, as I do, its worth seeing Journey. Its one-third inexpert homage, two-thirds popcorn, and a whole lotta train wreck.

It’s actually a testament to Jauron’s leadership and popularity with his players that they did rebound and play as hard as they did throughout the rest of the season because in some situations the players would have quit on their coach after that game.
Nobody questions Dick Jauron’s ability to lead. To the man his players seem to love him, as he is the ultimate player’s coach. They say he is calm but stern when necessary, providing the steady and calming leadership that a young team needs. But the fact is there are obvious examples where his game management can be questioned, and when all is said and done being a positive influence gets negated if the X’s and O’s of the game are lacking. It’s part of the game for the decisions of the head coach to be questioned by snack consuming couch potatoes like yours truly, but ultimately if the mistakes are repeated and team improvement is not reflected in the win column then a coach is on borrowed time.
2008 is a big year for both The Bills and Jauron. The fans have been able to respect the effort and determination displayed by this team over the past two years and at this time Jauron is still respected and well liked.
