A couple hot poker topics this week have been, of course, WinStar, and Scotty Nguyens less than stellar behavior and etiquette in the $50k WSOP HORSE event, as seen on ESPN. Pauly (who actually watched this final table live) assures me a lot of this persona came in the editing yeah, he was drunk and rude for awhile, but then he sobered up and played like a winner and indeed, I remember thinking similarly as the day progressed was rooting for Nguyen definitely didnt want a newbie like Michael DeMichele to win $50k Friggin HORSE! But after watching the episode(s) this week, I gotta say was totally rooting for DeMichele, even though I knew he probably didnt stand a chance.
Anyhow, point being just wondering if a (bad) performance like Scottys could jeopardize his relationship with the Cherokee Casino in Tulsa, where he has hosted the biggest events in North-North Texas prior to the current River tourney at WinStar. I am like a god in Oklahoma, he has said. They have my picture on billboard.
Not saying one incident will but wondering if it might. Because after all, there was a reason they chose him back in the day because everyone loves Scotty Nguyen, baby! But now thats clearly not the case.

In the past few years, internet gambling has become very popular around the world. The internet’s
ubiquitousness and speed have made online betting simple and available. Instead
of the hassle of going to the casinos, now all you have to do is sit down at
your computer and open a web browser.
There are many pitfalls to be aware of, though, for the novice. While there are
literally thousands of online slots sites only a handful of them are worth your
time and money. It’s relatively simple and low-cost to set up and maintain an
online casino which can lead to some poorly run and shady sites. Plus, the
nebulous character of the internet can make it difficult to reclaim your money
or regulate online sites if a problem arises.
Choosing an Internet Casino
One way to find a good internet casino
is to look for casino reviews sites. Find a few and compare them and their
rankings. Some are just shills whose reviews just want you to play poker or
blackjack because the site gets some cash for you clicking on their review. It
shouldn’t be difficult to find the genuine casino review sites.
Once you’ve found a few online casinos that you like, the next thing is to
decide on the type of game you want to play. If you’ve already decided
beforehand, then there’s no need to deliberate. But if you’re not sure here are
a few things to consider. If you have a predisposition towards a type of game,
like poker, then stick with that. But if you want to try something new, perhaps
backgammon would be more closely suited to you.
Choosing an Online Game
If you have no idea what type of game you’d like to play, then the decision
comes down to whether you’re more interested in strategy or a simple game. A
popular game for those who don’t want complicated rules or strategy is online
roulette.
Online roulette is popular because of its history as the centerpiece of
traditional casinos and being known as a game played by the wealthy and
aristocratic. No longer do you need to be a Baron to play roulette; all you need
is an internet connection. The rules are simple and can be learned very quickly.
You can start playing in minutes and hopefully start winning. The main drawback
with roulette is that since there’s not much strategy involved – despite the
systems ‘guaranteeing’ otherwise – you don’t have much control over how the game
goes.
On the other hand, Texas holdem – the most popular form of poker- is a
strategy-intensive and very complicated game with relatively simple rules. The
rules are easy to learn but the strategy involved is quite intricate and can
take years to master. The enjoyment of the game is derived from its seemingly
simple gameplay coupled with the strategy and the outlaw aura that poker carries
with it. Perhaps it is more rewarding to win a high-stakes, intense round of
poker than it is to win from randomly placing chips on some number and color.
It’s not important which style of game you choose; you know what you’re looking
for and you don’t have to stick to one type of game either. Above all, gambling
should be recreational and the game you’re playing should be fun.

The history of poker is even today a matter of debate. We dont know the exact origin of the game. Poker looks like the Persian game As Nas (as nas) and may have been taught to colonists in New Orleans by Persian sailors.
The name of the game is likely derived from the Irish word Poca (Pron. Pokah) ( ) or even the French poque which comes from the German word pochen. Even today it is not clear whether the origins of the current poker has anything to do with these games. It is sometimes considered that the origin of the game is associated with the game of primero or the French brelan, and the English game Brag. It is quite possible that all these games have influenced the growth of poker as it is known nowadays.
The English actor, Joseph Crowell, said that the game was played in New Orleans in 1829, with a deck of 20 cards and four players who would bet which hand was the most valuable.  Also, Jonathan H. Greens described in his book the spreading of the game from New Orleans to the rest of the country via the Mississippi river boats, where the game was a common hobby.
Soon, the English deck of 52 cards made its appearance, and the flush (colour) was introduced to the rules of the game. During the American civil war, many additions were made, such as Straight. The game was further developed in the USA, and the dissemination of the game in Asian countries is attributed to Americans soldiers.
From 1970 until today a series of events made poker one of the most popular games in the world:
* In 1970 poker tournaments started with their current form. Also the WSOP (World Series Of Poker) starts in America.
* Later in the decade of the 70 the first poker book was published (Super / System by Doyle Brunson).
* In 1987, community card poker games began playing in California. This type of poker quickly became popular among the players.
* In 1998 the movie Rounders is filmed, which has to do with poker.
* In 1999, Late Night Poker has Joined British television debut by making poker known  on the other side of the Atlantic.
In the 21st century, the popularity of poker is beyond all expectations with the introduction of online poker which gives another dimension to the game.

MONTREAL, CANADA - (July 25, 2008) - Tokwiro Enterprises ENRG (), proprietors of UltimateBet.com (), one of the ten largest on-line poker cardrooms, today announced that it has concluded the investigation into allegations of unfair play on UB’s web site.
Tokwiro has compiled complete forensic evidence including the IP addresses, devices, transfer and withdrawal histories, and names associated with the player accounts that benefited from illicitly viewing hole card information. The results of Tokwiros internal investigation have been turned over to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) and its auditors, as that regulatory body continues its independent investigation. These results are in addition to the data which Tokwiro has already shared with the KGC.
Tokwiro has identified a total of 19 accounts and 88 associated usernames that were involved in the cheating, including the accounts that were named in Tokwiros publicly posted investigation updates of May 29, 2008 and July 8, 2008. The same perpetrators that were previously identified controlled all of these usernames. There are no new perpetrators involved, only new usernames. Usernames were changed many times over the course of the cheating scam in an apparent scheme to avoid detection. Our complete list of usernames involved in the cheating scheme has now been turned over to the KGC, and the Company does not expect to uncover any additional usernames.
Paul Leggett, Tokwiros Chief Operating Officer, said, Make no mistake: our management team is outraged that this cheating occurred on our site through illicit software placed on the UB servers prior to our purchasing UltimateBet. Tokwiro is aggressively pursuing legal avenues of redress in order to protect and compensate our players and the business. Rest assured that we will release more information to the poker community and to the public at large as we enforce our and our players rights. With respect to refunds to the affected players, we are continuing our analysis in order to determine the refund amounts. We will move forward with another round of refunds in the weeks ahead. We thank the poker community for its invaluable contributions to this investigation and assure it that we remain committed to fully investigating any claims of fraud on our site, Mr. Leggett said.
The investigation revealed that the perpetrators logged into the client software, using an account that had the ability to view hole cards. The ability of a specific account to view hole cards was enabled by illicit software that was placed on the UltimateBet servers prior to October 2006, which was before Tokwiro acquired the business.
The account that was used to view hole cards never actually played in a game. Instead, the perpetrators used hole card information gained from logging in with this account while playing on other accounts, which thereby benefited from the cheating. The money won by the accounts that received hole card information was then moved around and off the site in a complex web of player-to-player transfers and withdrawals. This contributed to the complexity of Tokwiros efforts to uncover the truth.
Mr. Leggett concluded: We cannot over-emphasize the fact that Tokwiro and its entire management team had no knowledge of the illicit software until it was revealed by our investigation; and no one associated with Tokwiro was involved in the cheating scheme at any point.

Maybe 10 or 12 days ago I came close to my first $100 razz pot. It totalled $102.75, but then PokerStars took out a $3 rake, and I was left with a $99.75 reward. Close but no cigar. I had to wait until today to get one officially, and it was well over that threshold--$130 after rake. Probably would have gone even higher if one of them hadn't been disconnected during the hand. (Highly suspicious of an intentional self-disconnect there, if you ask me--suspicious enough, in fact, that I reported it to Stars to see if the same player has a history of such conduct.)

I have to give credit for the assist to the player in Seat 6, whose name and avatar I have blotted out in the screen shot above, and whose name I have playfully changed in the hand history below. He helped me cap the multi-way betting all along, while the other players, without his raises, would have just called me. In fact, his play was sufficiently atrocious and suspicious that one of the losing participants accused us in the chat box, after the hand, of having colluded. He was dead serious. He might even report it to the site. I can certainly see, in retrospect, why an opponent would view this as a possible classic trapping play, in which he was the victim. I'm not worried about an investigation, though, since there were no such shenanigans--just a desperately hopeful player on a draw to what would have been a good hand, had he gotten there.

Nevertheless, his play--raising and reraising, when calling until he hit would have probably been smarter--was awful enough that I'm shielding his name both to spare him embarrassment and to help keep him my little donating secret! I will be looking him up when I'm online.

Note that he called on the river with a K-Q-9 low. The only way he could win at that point was if my three down cards were all pairs or at least no better than K-Q. But I had not even once played--let alone shown down--any starting hand that was not three unpaired cards 7 or lower (except in a couple of steals, which this obviously wasn't), so for him to think he might be good in this spot was, well, pretty freakin' desperate.

Between my own personal Donator, some other nice hands, and a series of hero calls on the river that nearly all proved to be correct, it turned out to be a +$186 razz day, in about three hours of play, again while I was doing other computer work and paying attention only when I had a playable hand.

Time now to go out into the world and see if I can find a comparable Donator in the casinos!

By the way, I really wish I knew of an online hand replayer for stud/razz hands. The only ones I know of work only for hold'em and/or Omaha hands. It would be much cooler to be able to embed an animation or direct you to a site to see the hand play out than posting these boring text-only hand histories. If any reader knows of a web site with a stud/razz hand replaying feature, please leave a comment about it.

They first came into contact with one another in June last year, and romance blossomed as they shared knowledge, opinions but above all a great sense of humor on both their pastime of choice and life in general. These exchanges of messages bloomed into private messages, emails and phone calls between Sweden and the United States on a daily basis, with Christmas and New Year 2008 jointly celebrated via the Internet.
The groom informed that he and his new bride who owns a construction products company in the States, met face-to-face in London. They spent a week in the city visiting shows and restaurants. Swede stated, “It was among the best weeks in my life.”
The couple parted ways at London’s Heathrow airport and returned to their own countries. Swede decided then that he wanted to make their relationship more permanent and closed his antiques auctioneering business and began planning for his move to the United States. The couple got married and is now planning their future.

After honing their games online for awhile, many players decide to take the next step and test their skills in a live poker room. For some, the transition comes easily but, for others, the differences between playing at a computer and at a live table can be difficult to overcome.
For many online players, one of the hardest adjustments to make is to the speed – or slowness – of live play. Where you may easily see 50, 60 or more hands an hour if you multi-table at home, you’ll be lucky to see 20 or more hands during an hour of live play. The game just doesn’t move as fast. Some players adjust to the “boredom” of live play by listening to music and zoning out while they’re not involved in a hand.
While I don’t personally object to listening to music at the table, I prefer to chat with some of the players seated near me during the game. First of all, there’s a nice social aspect to playing live – if you have a good table – that you just don’t get online. Secondly, chatting with your fellow tablemates may help you to determine what kind of players they are. Is the guy next to you just killing time at a $5/$10 table while he’s waiting for a bigger game? Is he in town on vacation and just playing a little poker for the fun of it? Is he a regular?
These little bits of information can help you categorize your opponents and determine what kinds of players they might be; serious, casual, aggressive, etc. Remember, the more information you can gather, the better decisions you’ll be able to make when you’re involved in a big hand. This brings me to another important distinction between online and live play – focusing on your opponent.
When you’re playing online, you’re working with a much more limited amount of information than you are live. Sure, you may be able to calculate how often a player raises or re-raises from the button and keep track of their statistics, but when you get right down to it, you’re playing your game based on your two hole cards and the patterns you can establish about your opponents. When you’re playing live poker, on the other hand, you have a lot more information that you can factor into your decisions.
How is your opponent betting or sitting at the table? Are they confident? Do they look scared? Does your opponent’s demeanor change when they’re involved in a hand? Do they talk more? Less? Are they tilting? Drunk? Loose? Because of all of the extra information available to you at a live game, I believe it’s much easier to make reads on your opponents and, in turn, to put them on a very specific range of hands – or hand – if you’re really paying attention to what’s going on at the table. One of the biggest mistakes I see many online players make when they first start playing live is that they overlook this extra information and play a very “general” game rather than focusing in on a specific opponent.
My advice for these players is simple; slow down, focus, think. While you don’t want to take two minutes to contemplate every single play, there’s nothing wrong with going into the tank every once in awhile during a live game or tournament. If you’re paying attention to the action and your opponents, there’s a lot more information that you have to process and this sometimes takes some time. Think about how the hand has played out – and about how your opponent has played the hand – and you’ll find that your game will improve.

Philip N. Hogen, chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission, announced that net revenues from Indian gaming continue to grow, increasing 5% from 2006 and generating $26 billion in revenues in 2007. "The continued growth is significant considering recent economic struggles throughout the country. Indian gaming continues to be an important factor in local economies by providing much needed jobs throughout Indian country and other economic development," Hogen said. "The Indian gaming industry has experienced tremendous growth since the inception of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) twenty years ago in 1988 when the Indian gaming industry saw revenues of $200 million, to now over $26 billion in 2007."
NIGC Region V, which includes Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, had the largest percentage increase in revenues. The region generated revenues of $2.6 billion in 2007, a 20% increase from the $2.1 billion generated in 2006. The region has experienced active growth, more than doubling revenues in the three-year period from 2004 to 2007, climbing from 83 operations generating $1.3 billion in 2004 to 100 operations generating $2.6 billion in 2007. Region II, consisting of California and northern Nevada, had only a 1.6% increase in revenue but still saw the biggest revenues of NIGC's six regions, increasing to $7.8 billion in 2007 from $7.7 billion in 2006.
Gaming revenues represent amounts wagered less prizes paid. Revenue calculations are based on the audit reports NIGC receives annually from tribes conducting gaming operations in accordance with IGRA. The 2007 revenue data was compiled from the audit reports of 382 Indian gaming operations received by the Commission through June 10, 2008. Because the fiscal year utilized by tribal operations vary, compilations of annual revenue totals are not finalized until June of the following year.
Hogen released not only regional revenue data, but also graphics analyzing the growth in Indian gaming.
The NIGC is an independent regulatory agency established within the Department of the Interior pursuant to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988.

Casino games are fun, often money based forms of entertainment that has many people playing daily worldwide. In times past the casino was the only place you could play casino games. However, this has changed due to new technologies such as casino game software’s. Playing online is bigger than ever with pay for play sites that offer real money to winning gamers. There are even television programs that deal with casino games, how they are played and various rule aspects to each game. I will go over the three most played casino games and give you a little bit of relevant information on each.
Poker Play
Out of the many types of Casino games to choose from, poker is by far the most popular. Understanding the rules of poker while developing winning techniques is what separates the casual poker player from the professional high roller. In this game, huge amounts of money can change hands with a single deal of the cards. Many seasoned gamblers earn a living by participating in poker tournaments and online poker playing. Just to give you an example of the amounts of monies that can be made, just consider Jamie Gold from Malibu, California. He made over twelve million dollars in the recent WSOP championship tournament by beating out the competition. Video poker is an electronic version of poker where you play against the machine instead of other participants. Video poker isn’t legal in all places due to strict gambling laws. The places that have video poker machines do pay out cash to its winners. This allows for traditional gambling at diverse places such as truck stops in addition to casino locations.
Blackjack Basics
Another frequently played casino game is the card based Blackjack, commonly called twenty one. Like most casino games there are several ways to play and win. The most basic principle to understand is that the value of a hand full of cards can’t exceed twenty one. Understanding the terms and ways to play in blackjack and how they affect the game is very important to learn and utilize. Words such as double down, flat bet, hit and paint are commonly used in blackjack. Any player who wants to advance in this game should be familiar with all of the blackjack terminology used around the world. Since blackjack is a game of strategy, there are many resources available for the gaming student to utilize in order to get better. Books, seminars, tutorials and instruction manuals all aide in bring average players up to an advanced level of play.
Roulette
The casino game of roulette is a little different from blackjack and poker in several ways. In roulette you will need more than just a deck of cards in order to play. You need a roulette wheel, markers, chips and other accessories in order to get a game of roulette going. Prices for roulette wheels can be as little as a few dollars for a basic model all the way up to thousands of dollars for more professional wheels. This fast paced game involves primarily luck where other games are determined by a mixture of luck and skill. Bets are placed on numbers and the people who are the closest to that number wins.

Whether it be blackjack, roulette or poker, casino games are quite enjoyable and may be lucrative if you know how to play.

The two parts Sarkar and Sarkar Raj were well received by the audience. Will Sarkar 3 happen? At the moment, no one knows the answer to this, perhaps not even Ramgopal Verma. But the way Sarkar Raj finishes a sequel seems a distinct and perhaps inevitable possibility. So, with Abhishek out of the picture, leaving Big B to do the job of political king maker once again, what would Sarkar 3 be made of? Some would feel that Aishwarya may be the key figure apart from Amitabh in Sarkar 3. But Abhishek has a different opinion. In an interview he was quoted saying that he would like to see Hrithik in Sarkar 3 if and when it happens. If you have seen Sarkar (the first part) you might know that Subhash Naghre (Big Bs) character had two sons, one Abhishekh and the other played by Kay Kay Menon. Kay Kay Menons character had a son (Chikoo) who does not appear in Sarkar Raj. However at the end of the movie Amitabh does ask his wife to call Chikoo back immediately. That might be where the next Sarkar begins and the way Abhishek sees it, Hrithik would be an exciting choice.
